Bike Sense
Check your part before you buy
Some parts are sized — not guessed from the bike name alone. Pick your part family, measure once, then order with confidence. Pretoria workshop · WhatsApp 079 231 2573.
Which guide do you need?
- Fork seals Fork seals are sold by ID × OD × height (mm). Match the seal ID to your fork tube outside diameter.
- Timing / cam chains Timing (cam) chains are sold by link count and type. Count the links on your old chain or read the stamping.
- Sprockets Sprockets are sold by tooth count (and chain pitch). Count the teeth on your old sprocket before you order.
- Drive chains Drive chains are sold by pitch (e.g. 520) and link count. Master links and rivets are separate parts.
- Tyres Tyre size is printed on the sidewall. Read that size before you buy — do not guess from the bike name alone.
- Tubes Inner tubes are sized to match the tyre. Use the size on the tyre sidewall or the old tube packaging.
- Cables Cables are sold by length (mm). Measure the old inner cable end-to-end before ordering.
Brake pad FA codes are different — use our FA137 vs FA749 guide, not a measuring tape. Bike fitment (make/model/year) still comes from Shop Your Ride.
